A COUPLE OF ARTISTS ON THE BLOCK
We have spent 40 years growing our life and family together and we're lucky to call White Rock, British Columbia our home. We share a passion for visual arts and creativity. Our art is inspired by the natural beauty of our neighbourhood and we want to share that with the rest of our community. Our complementary mediums encompass the variety of character and style that we encounter daily in White Rock. From bold watercolours to reclaimed driftwood art and decor, our shared goal is to bring the beauty of White Rock to everyone's homes.

Watercolour
I was an art school reject at the age of 17, when I was told my work was too commercial in style. Instead I studied counselling psychology and after earning my MS, worked for 39 years in non-profit management. I retired that year for fear 40 years in community service sounded like a sentence. I thoroughly enjoyed my career, but throughout, continued my passion for painting on weekends.
I studied watercolour painting extensively with the late Frank Townsley and was fortunate to participate in workshops with Jean Haines, Paul Jackson, David R. Smith and the artist I’d most like to be when I grow up, Lian Quan Zhen.
My goal is to bring vivid, deep colour to paper, combined with the illusion of dimensional texture.

Wood & Plenty
When I take a stroll on the beach, I can't help but see the art laying just under the surface of every piece of nature that I come across. I see organic shapes, interesting woodgrains, and inherent beauty.
My art takes a minimalist approach that simply enhances a natural design. I breathe new life to old wood, repurposing it as unique and functional home decor.
The techniques that I employ include pressure washing, drying, and crafting unique pieces of beach driftwood into shelves, lamps, tables, and other items for display. I often incorporate multiple repurposed materials into my art, making each piece a collection of stories.

Each piece of artwork has been made by nature and refined by Chuck.
